WEATHER: Clouds break up overnight

Sunshine returns Friday, a few showers Saturday morning then a beautiful rest of the weekend.

MINNESOTA, USA — The steady rain has wrapped up. Expect an overcast sky, with patchy areas of drizzle the rest of the day. Many areas picked up well over 0.5" of rainfall earlier this morning, with over an inch in the southern part of the state.

Temperatures hold steady in the lower 50s today, with a breezy easterly wind 10-15 mph. Clearing takes place later this evening from west to east.

We completely clear out tonight, and that will lead to a mostly sunny and breezy Friday. Anytime we see a good amount of sunshine this time of year, it has a big impact on temperatures. 50s today with overcast, near 70 tomorrow with sunshine.

A front passes Saturday morning bringing a few showers the first half of the day. Sunday is looking spectacular with sunshine, highs near 70, and a light wind.

We're tracking another strong front forecast to pass late Monday into Tuesday morning. This could bring us some thunderstorms, some of which could be strong. Shower chances linger through the middle of next week.
